Un Chau Neighbourhood Elderly Centre

Un Chau Neighbourhood Elderly Centre

Introduction

“Un Chau Neighbourhood Elderly Centre” (UCNEC) was formerly known as “So Uk Social Centre For The Elderly”. With additional resources from the Government upon the re-engineering of Community Support Services for Elders in 2003, it was converted from a Social Centre for the Elderly into the Neighbourhood Elderly Centre, and was renamed as “So Uk Neighbourhood Elderly Centre” at that time. Due to the demolition of So Uk Estate, our centre was relocated to Un Chau Estate and was renamed as “Un Chau Neighbourhood Elderly Centre” in 2009.

With “aging in place” as our rationale and “client-centred” as our goal, we are committed to optimise the opportunities of senior people for healthy lifestyles, active participation in social affairs and continuous learning through diversified, professional and quality community support services, so as to actualise the concept of “active ageing”. Besides, we also provide comprehensive support to the caregivers to strengthen their confidence and capabilities in caregiving, so that the seniors can continue to live in their familiar community.
